Triple Berry Muffins with Cinnamon Streusel
March 7, 2013 in StudioEats

A few weeks back, on one of my favorite food reads, eat, live, run, Jenna concocted these beauties! I decided to make them for one of my StudioEats at StudioE. They seemed to be quite enjoyed by all, so I made some more.
What I love the most about these is the variety of berries together. Everyone’s had a to-die-for blueberry muffin, but these have more to offer. The strawberries end up warm and gooey, and the cinnamon vibe from the streusel compliment the trio of berries well. I used fresh strawberries and frozen blue and blackberries, but I’m saving these to do again for each time those berries are in season around here.
In May, our little local market will be brimming with huge, juicy strawberries picked right out back. I’ll likely buy hundreds of them with plans to do ten different specific things, and will find that between the four of us- mainly Harper and her insatiable love of strawberry snacks-they will pretty much just get eaten right out of the basket…then in July, the blackberries will ripen and we will don shorts and knee socks and bandanas either for a new fashion statement or to attempt at keeping ticks off while we plunge into the thicket. In mid-August, our own blueberries will be ready for picking, and our black lab, Dexter will help… Can you tell I’m looking forward to some warmer weather?
Cold and rainy, or mid-summer, these muffins totally hit the spot. Morning, afternoon, or night, I might add…
Are you getting itchy for Spring?
PS- I’m posting these to let you know that I’m still working on a new page to the blog called StudioEats. I’ll post recipes and photos of the successes that go on over there, so they will mostly be links to baked goods, with a healthy vibe, that I find all over the web. That way, if you are a consumer of these, you can find out exactly what’s in them and how to make them on your own if you like.
PPS- We had a fun-filled last few days celebrating birthdays out the wazoo! I’ll be back soon with some photos from our 3-year-old big girl’s monster “party” at the zoo and a carrot cake! Stay tuned.

These look so yummy! And yes, I am SO ready for spring, haha!
These look fantastic! I have some strawberries that quickly need to be used up soon. This might just be the thing. Beautiful photos too.
